New Additions to the CI TAPS Sheet and SI 645

Community Informatics students and those interested in declaring CI as a specialization should keep an eye out for an updated version of the Community Informatics TAPS sheet for Fall 2009. It will include up to three additional classes that will count toward the specialization and include well rounded coursework that will provide a theoretical, practical, and research based core for CI.

The SI faculty that represent CI hope  to have this TAPS sheet officially acceptedin the next few weeks.

Additionally, recent student comments at Ask the Deans, have lead Dean Mackie-Mason to reconsider cutting SI 645, Information Use in Communities, taught by Joan Durrance, from the curriculum. It is a core foundational class for the CI specialization. It may be taught in Winter 2010 so if you are interested in taking this class, please send support comments to Jeff Mackie-Mason, Judy Lawson or Joan Durrance.
