HCI volunteers needed locally
HCI students are encouraged to volunteer for Menlo Innovation's Volunteer program. Students will be trained to act as High Tech Anthropologists to help develop software for local non-profit organizations. This is a great chance to get experience in HCI and to do some good in the community. Volunteers can commit whatever time they have available but typically come in three times a week for three hours. Many SI folks have been involved in this program and at least one is a current employee.
Volunteers will be compensated in Cheesy Poofs and organic free trade coffee. Menlo's training courses are also available for free to volunteers.
If you are interested, volunteer orientations are usually Monday mornings. You can stop by Menlo (next door to Cafe Verde) or e-mail info@menloinnovations.com if you are interested.
