A new group and CTools site has been created to bring together those who are interested in the arts and the use of creative expression to foster social change.
The Arts and Social Change worksite is a space where people with shared interests can come together to build collaborations, share resources, and discuss what exactly social change through creative expression would look like. Participation is encouraged, so if you hear about upcoming events, shows, talks, etc., please feel free to post an announcement and share with the group!

"Arts of Citizenship first annual conference will build connections among UM faculty, students, staff and community organizations. Our goal is to support the development of sustainable university-community partnerships in the arts, humanities and design and provide opportunities for participants to reflect on the promise and pitfalls of collaborative work.
The conference will include a series of workshops led by poet Sekou Sundiata, Linda Frye Burnham (Community Arts Network), Marcia Ochoa (UC Santa-Cruz), Kenneth Anderson (Mosaic Youth theater) and Rebeka Rodriguez (Intersection for the Arts) as well as UM faculty and leaders from community partner organizations.
