The Reuters Digital Vision Program (RDVP) at Stanford University is accepting applications for the 2006-07 academic year (September 2006 - June 2007). The deadline is April 3, 2006. Fellowships will be awarded at the end of May, 2006.
The Program
The Digital Vision Program supports social entrepreneurs who seek to leverage technology-based solutions in the interest of humanitarian, educational, and sustainable development goals. The Program fosters interdisciplinary projects and prototyping efforts that address real needs in underserved communities. Certiport CEO, David Saedi, today joined Cleveland Mayor Jane L. Campbell at the Ashbury Computer Center in ribbon cutting ceremonies launching the city's initiative to offer technology training, financial literacy, and Certiport Internet and Computing Core Certification (IC3 (R)) to 30,000 low-income residents over the next five years. IC3 was chosen as a measurement of success for the city's "Computer Learning in My Backyard (CLIMB)" program because of IC3's stature as a global standard for digital literacy, offering recipients a portable credential to distinguish themselves and to enter or advance in the workplace.
