Creating Campus-Community Partnerships in the Arts Conference

"Arts of Citizenship first annual conference will build connections among UM faculty, students, staff and community organizations. Our goal is to support the development of sustainable university-community partnerships in the arts, humanities and design and provide opportunities for participants to reflect on the promise and pitfalls of collaborative work. The conference will include a series of workshops led by poet Sekou Sundiata, Linda Frye Burnham (Community Arts Network), Marcia Ochoa (UC Santa-Cruz), Kenneth Anderson (Mosaic Youth theater) and Rebeka Rodriguez (Intersection for the Arts) as well as UM faculty and leaders from community partner organizations.

CIC Reunion keynote: Richard Fuchs, "The end of the world as we know it - ICTs and development into the future"

Our speaker for the Saturday event, Michigan CIC's annual reunion, has now been confirmed for 1 pm. You and any of your students who might be arriving in town early are welcome to attend. Richard Fuchs of the International Development Research Centre in Ottawa will talk on "The End of the World As we Know it?: ICTs and Development into the Future." Also joining us will be Mark Surman, Managing Director of Telecentre.org, the new IDRC / Microsoft / Swiss Dev Agency collaboration.
