Context and Theme
The reality is that if implemented with a vision, e-Government offers tremendous opportunity to reduce poverty, improve government functions and governance, and enhance citizen participation in government. Furthermore, equitable e-Government information and service delivery is expected to enhance economic prosperity and promote accountability and transparency in the public sector. To derive these benefits, countries are harnessing the burgeoning ICT sector to create knowledge societies and knowledge-driven economies.
